SCUTTLE Robotics is an open-source mobile robotics platform allowing anyone from all ages to learn the basics of robotics at a very affordable cost and scale their learning from industry open-platforms from Texas Instruments, Intel and VIAM Robotics. SCUTTLE Robotics Asia PLT was established in Feb 2022 as a sister organization to the SCUTTLE Robotics LLC based in Texas, USA.
Our collaboration with Intel Microelectronics Sdn Bhd based in Penang produced a customised autonomous mobile robot (AMR) integrating our basic SCUTTLE v2.3 with Intel 11th Generation i7 processor-based single board computer from Axiomtek, the CAPA55R Embedded Computer.
Customised SCUTTLE – Intel AMR Kit
On 16th Jan 2023, Intel partners MPC, MIDA and SCUTTLE Robotics to launch the Robotics for University or ROBOFUN in which 5 public and private universities will receive the customised SCUTTLE – Intel AMR Kits to enable the learning of hardware and software components of autonomous mobile robots. The 5 universities are Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Universiti Tuanku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Universiti Malaya (UM).
Each university was presented with a SCUTTLE – Intel AMR Kit during ROBOFUN launching event.
SCUTTLE – Intel collaboration brought together the engineers from both organisations with various disciplines and experience levels co-developing the customised AMR kit over a period of 6 months.
